Methodical approaches to the calculation and estimation of investment potential, offered by scientists in the field of researches of investment processes on the regional level have been considered. Essence of concept «investment potential» is elucidated and the methodical mechanism of estimation of investment potential of separate region is offered. On the basis of the offered method of estimation, the calculation of investment potential have been carried out in modern terms and certain rating positions of the regions have been determined.
